“보라 싹이라 이름하는 사람이 자기 곳에서 돋아나서 여호와의 전을 건축하리라” (스가랴 6장 12절)
시온은 27살에 처음 교회에 발을 디딘 대학원생에 의해 4년 뒤에 설립되었습니다. 당시에 진로 문제로 막다른 길에 있던 그는 하나님의 병거와 말이 온 땅에 두루다니는 것과 여호와의 전이 건축될 것에 대한 비전을 받고 하나님의 성전을 세우기 위해 학문의 꿈을 버리고 새로운 길을 걷게 되었습니다.
우연히도 그가 사업을 처음 시작하게 된 것은 갓 결혼한 아내가 교회 친구들에게 나누어 주려고 좁은 집 한 켠에 놓아두었던 화장품 더미들을 팔기 시작하면서였습니다. 당시 아마존 직구를 통해 비교적 값싸게 구매한 화장품을 팔려고 간단하게 만든 온라인 상점에서 꾸준하게 매출이 증가했고 마침내 본격적으로 화장품 수입 및 판매 업체를 설립하고 7년 뒤에는 화장품 수출도 진행하게 되었습니다.
한 번도 평생 사업을 꿈꿔본 적이 없었고, 20퍼센트 대의 고이율 대출로 생활을 연명하던 창업주에게 시온의 설립과 매출은 온전한 하나님의 은혜이자 소명입니다. 오늘도 어딘가에서 하나님의 말씀을 기다리고 있을 자신의 어두운 과거를 생각하며 시온은 마침내 다가올 하나님의 성전을 두렵고 떨리는 마음으로 기대하고 있습니다.
“공중의 새를 보라 심지도 거두지도 않고 거두지도 않고 창고에 모아들이지도 아니하되 너희 하늘 아버지께서 기르시나니 너희는 이것들보다 귀하지 아니하냐… 그러므로 염려하여 이르기를 무엇을 먹을까 무엇을 마실까 무엇을 입을까 하지 말라… 그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라” (마태복음 6장 26 – 33절)
“네가 네 하나님 여호와의 말씀을 삼가 듣고 내가 오늘 네게 명령하는 그의 모든 명령을 지켜 행하면 네 하나님 여호와께서 너를 세계 모든 민족 위에 뛰어나게 하실 것이라… 여호와께서 명령하사 네 창고와 네 손으로 하는 모든 일에 복을 내리시고… 네가 많은 민족에게 꾸어줄지라도 너는 꾸지 아니할 것이요 여호와께서 너를 머리가 되고 꼬리가 되지 않게 하시며 위에만 있고 아래에 있지 않게 하시리니... 다른 신을 따라 섬기지 아니하면 이와 같으리라” (신명기 28장 1절 – 14절)

Zion was founded four years after its founder, then a graduate student, first stepped into a church at the age of twenty-seven. At the time, he had reached a dead end, uncertain about the direction of his life. He then received a vision of the chariots and horses of God going throughout the earth and of the temple of the LORD being built. To build the temple of God, he left behind his dreams of an academic life and set out on a new path.
By what seemed a coincidence, his journey into business began when he started selling a pile of cosmetics that his newlywed wife had placed in a corner of their small home to share with friends from church. Sales at the simple online store he created to sell cosmetics purchased at relatively low prices through Amazon continued to grow. Eventually, he established a full-fledged cosmetics import and distribution business, and seven years later, Zion began exporting cosmetics as well.
Zion’s founder had never dreamed of becoming a businessman. At one time, he had struggled to make ends meet through loans carrying interest rates above 20 percent. To him, Zion’s founding and growth are wholly the grace of God and a calling from Him. Today, with the darkness of its founder’s past in mind, Zion remembers those who may still be waiting somewhere for the word of God, and with fear and trembling awaits the day when the temple of God will at last be built.
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?... So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’… But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 7: 2–33)
“If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully follow all his commands I give yo today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations on earth… The LORD will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to… You will lend to many nations but will borrow from non. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail… you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. Do not… following other gods and serving them. (Deuteronomy 28:1–14)

시온은 현재 약 1000평 규모의 물류센터를 사용하고 있습니다.
